The clients were looking to build a large energy efficient annex, and the rapid pre-fabricated SIPS build provided the air tightness and energy efficiency they were hoping for. With a dropped level within the build and two wonderful gable ends, the Rationel Alu Clad windows/doors created light and provided fantastic views into the garden. Working alongside other contractors, our carpenters erected the frame/internal walls and installed the windows and doors, providing the shell for others to clad and complete.

The oak beams in the vaulted ceilings look fantastic and add light and airy interior.

Client brief – create extra space on the side of a traditional granite cottage for use as a mudroom, utility/cloakroom. A 2.6 x 3.6 extension on the side of a Cornish cottage has been completed using 150mm SIPS panels. The SIPS walls were set on a concrete slab and the exterior rendered and painted to blend with the finish of the original cottage. The build was complete in 6 weeks and combined with a timber/slate pitched roof with large windows offers a warm light clean extended space. The Client is delighted with the end result and is looking forward to a clutter free kitchen now the inevitable school/sports bags, coats, boots etc have a proper “home”.

Using 200mm SIPS – BWF completed the complex roofing structure for a large project in Flushing. Working around the superb quality of the block work in place, we added the 200mm SIPS to create a warm fantastically insulated roof. The lack of timbers required using SIPS for this project, provided plenty of room in the roof and maximised the amazing views. The use of SIPS ensured the work was quickly carried out and delivered the flat accurate surface ready for the roofing contractors to move onto.

The clients in Flushing were looking for a highly insulated timber shell. BWF have completed the 235mm timber frame and combined it with the energy efficient Alu Clad Rationel windows and doors. This small Cornish village proved a challenging site, but our accurately pre fabricated panels and frame, made to be carried through to the site, meant the team were able to erect the frame speedily, minimising on site time. Once the windows and doors were delivered and installed, the client then took over the build to complete their project.

A self contained micro home with kitchen, bathroom, living area and bedroom was required. Intended to be used for holiday use or for extra family, this build encompassed a fully insulated SIPS shell secure with Alu Clad Rationel double glazed windows and doors. In this instance we took the build to full turnkey, with supply and installation of kitchen and shower room, plus all the electrics and flooring. The exterior was timber clad in Kiln Dried Siberian Larch combined with what looked like corrugated iron but is an agricultural concrete product. This gives the build a modern, contemporary twist, sitting comfortably in an agricultural setting – we love the mix of materials.

Set in a stunning but challenging site, this development of timber frame, cedar clad contemporary homes have been perfect for the pre engineered pre fabricated build method BWF specialise in. Following ground works completion and detailed design specifications the steel structures supporting the frames are set out. The flooring constructed of an insulated I joist system, which is pre cut in our unit, is delivered and assembled on site. Due to the contemporary style of the structure demanding extensive open plan areas with large amounts of glazing, many of the units required glulam, post and beam structures with in fill panels. The pre cut and partially assembled frames are delivered to site, carried to the location, erected and completed. High performance Rationel windows and doors complete the shell and the house is finished in Cedar cladding. The interiors have then been finished with clean lines and modern styling, creating open plan light airy space. In line with our fellow subcontractors the complete package has been supplied and erected on what has been a challenging site location. The site at Rocky Lane, St Agnes, Cornwall is drawing to the end with the last of the units currently under construction and the developer Living Structures is delighted with the project.

The client in Pentire was looking for a fast build to extend her property and create a super insulated workspace for her interior business. The extension using 150mm SIPS went up super-fast and the metal roof and Canadian Western Red Cedar cladding combined with the large Alu Clad sliding doors, provided a contemporary light space. The client was so delighted with the finished product, she requested we continued the work at her home. We followed around the rest of the house with battens, external insulation and finished using the Canadian Western Red Cedar Cladding.
